About the Role
As a Test Analyst at Cognizant, you will be responsible for testing and approving the performance, quality, stability, and safety of core software apps. In this role, you engage with agile teams and quality engineering professionals to review and approve the application’s Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities:
You will be involved with inspecting and scrutinizing applications’ functional requirements, developing test scenarios, and executing manual and automation test scripts. As a Test Analyst, you will collaborate with developers, business analysts, scrum masters, and clients to confirm software solutions meet quality standards and detect problems at the earliest stages. The role requires validating enterprise web applications, portals, mobile apps, and cloud-based data solutions to protect users and ensure systems’ integrity.
Key Duties:
- Study business requirement specifications (BRS) and software requirement specifications (SRS) and identify test scenarios.
- Create test plans, test cases, and requirement traceability matrices (RTM).
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing.
- Record and track software defects in Jira or Azure portal company software solutions.
- Execute test scripts and automation procedures using industry software tools and programming languages.
- Take part in daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, and bug triaging with technical teams.
This position demands proficiency in the STLC and the SDLC procedures. It also requires knowledge of testing strategies and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, or Cypress to perform automation testing effectively. On the other hand, Test Analysts must have strong analytical skills to assess the software features under review and meet the project’s quality control standards. Moreover, they must be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients to deliver their messages clearly and concisely.
